Deutsch began composing at the age of 12. He performed with the high school varsity jazz band, and studied at Lynn University Preparatory School of Music. While he primarily writes Classical music, he has also written Jazz, Ragtime, Klezmer, Flamenco, Gamelan, Trance, and Experimental. His influences include Mendelssohn, Rachmaninoff, Mahler, Mozart, and Bartók. He has a physics/math degree, was a National Merit Scholar, graduated top of his class as a US Navy nuclear reactor operator, and belongs to the International Society for Philosophical Enquiry, a 0.1% IQ network. His book is about the selective pressures that competing psychological preferences have placed on philosophical concepts.
